Real estate in Boipeba
Some 20 km. south of Morro de Sao Paulo lies the even more exotic island of Boipeba, where natural pools and reefs in front of the beaches create a kaleidoscope of colours... Unfortunately (or fortunately?), its lack of accessibility makes it a challenging location for development, except for very high end, low density projects.
Most large stretches of beach on Boipeba are owned by one single owner, who has conserved the areas in their authentic stated. For the happy few, a private airstrip provides for easy access by small plane - a beautiful trip of no more than 20 to 25 minutes.
The 'capital' of Boipeba is Barra Velha - a very small village with a dozen pousadas that attract a handful of eco-tourists. It also has a dozen of beach bars who come briefly to life abround lunch, when boat trips from Morro stop over for lunch. A few hours later, however, Boipeba returns to its usual and preferred pace - and time slows down in a way that can only happen in Bahia.
