Jericoacoara is one of the most remote beach villages in Brazil, and it takes a 4x4 to complete the 6 hour trip from Fortaleza to Jericoacoara.

Jeri used to be the ultimate hideaway for hippies in search of peace and quiet, but the village is already getting its first sushi bars and internet cafés, and several pousadas are starting to create a somewhat better infrastructure.

Its big assets - besides its remoteness - are its dunes, and rocky formations like the "Pedra Furada".
